Welcome to Bahía Tranquila, a website about maintaining an ecologically healthy environment while appreciating the best that the Puerto Vallarta region has to offer. The Spanish word bahía means bay in English, as does tranquila mean calm or peaceful; so bahía tranquila translates best to calm bay. Around this meaning I've built the concept of keeping in peace with the natural surroundings and environment, even in an urban bay area, while maintaining a lively culture, history, and an economy based largely on tourism.
