Bahía Tranquila is produced as a community blog, for anyone living in or visiting Puerto Vallarta, in a spirit of maintaining a green and sustainable environment that continues to coexist with the natural beauty of Bahía de Banderas; the second largest natural bay in the world.
Over the last 25 years, tourism and commerce in the area has continued to increase at a rate that has been faster than the rate of developing and implementing new infrastructure to support roadways and the availability of clean water to residents and visitors alike. We've seen a glut of time share and condominium properties being built in the surrounding communities.
During the last 10 years substantial improvements have been completed to ensure the sustainability of the region. The community at large, working with local government and the national Mexican Board of Tourism, is committed to maintaining infrastructure and managing growth in a manner that is consistent with the nurturing, protection, and conservation of the natural environment.
